Looking for a summary of disease progress

Posted in Group:

My father was diagnosed with PC about 14 months ago. His gleason scores were 8-10 and he already had mets in all the long bone. He was responsive to hormonal therapy for just 6 months. He started taxotere in April and received 10 cycles. My Dad is now 12 weeks out from taxotere. I am looking for some idea of how this disease progresses from this point. I know that there is no way to predict how long, but I would like to know what to expect.

There are many reasons to get a feel for the progression: my fathers brother is mentally challenged and requires assistance; my mom is in congestive heart failure and I am the only help that any of the family has. I am trying to get a feel for how this disease.

Have you sat down with his oncologist to discuss his prognosis? Due to your parent's and your uncle's health issues would any of them qualify for funded assistance?
