Ability to get an erection after prostate surgery

I would be interested to hear about some experiences patients have had with their ability to get an erection after they have had prostate surgery. How long does it take after surgery before you could get an erection? How long before you were able to have intercourse with your partner? Is there a preferred therapy that accelerates the process?
